First weekend in April, I had this prompting to back up all the documents and pictures on my computer to the hard drive. Weeell, I was really busy, or so I thought, and tomorrow was another day, right? You know, procrastination. And tomorrow came and it was General Conference and so I couldn't do anything about it then, and so we watched the two sessions on Saturday and afterwards, I noticed something strange. The kids had been on the computer earlier and it seemed to be frozen ; I tried my hand at a few things, but none worked so I restarted the computer. Unfortunately, some hard drive disk error message came up instead of restarting. A good friend of ours came over and took a look at the computer, and even took home the hard drive to try all the little tricks he could think of. But, the long and short of it is: nothing! There is nothing on the hard drive. No talks, no excel spreadsheets, no photos, no, nothing.
It wasn't my happiest moment. But I have backed up photos in the past six months or so, so they are not all gone. Mostly, the biggest pain is that all my budgeting spreadsheets, monthly expense charts, menu plans etc. are all gone. And honestly, I don't know if I would have even thought to back those up. I didn't realize how much I use Excel.
It is a good thing we have pencils and erasers at our house, and that I haven't forgotten how to use them!!
Hey! I didn't know you had a blog! We menu plan with gusto around here. The only way to keep the food budget under control frankly. Good luck!
